A commuter bus leaving the highway in Geumsan, South Chungcheong Province, collided with a truck coming from the other side early this morning (15th).

Twenty-two passengers were injured and taken to the hospital when the bus crashed down the slope in the accident.

The windshield was also completely broken when the bus hit the ground.

The accident occurred at around 5:20 a.m. today (15th).

A Hankook Tire commuter bus crossed into the opposite car near Geumsan Interchange on Tongyeong Daejeon Expressway and collided with an 18-ton truck.

The bus then crashed down the slope through the protective railing.

There were 23 people on the bus, including a driver in his 50s, and 22 people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The truck driver was not taken by ambulance because he was not seriously injured.

Police investigation confirmed that the bus driver was not drunk.

The point of the accident was the curved section out of the highway.

The driver reportedly told police that the car had slipped in the rain.

Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident based on black box screens and CCTV footage.
