A suspended prison sentence has been confirmed for a police officer who informed the executives of the nation's construction industry labor union about the forced investigation plan in advance.

On the 25th of last month, the Supreme Court confirmed the original ruling, which sentenced Park, in his 40s, to 10 months in prison and two years of probation on charges of leaking official secrets.

Park, a former lieutenant of the Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency, was arrested in March last year on charges of leaking investigative information to a local official of the construction union, such as that the search and seizure would probably take place this week.

The police actually applied for a search warrant for the union's office on charges of joint blackmail by members about an hour before Park called.

Park denied the charges, saying he only gave personal speculation to A during the trial.

However, the first trial sentenced him to 10 months in prison, judging that it was correct to leak information that could interfere with the purpose of the investigation, and the second trial suspended his execution for two years considering his sincere service as a police officer.

Park objected, but the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal, judging that there was no mistake in misunderstanding the legal principles regarding the establishment of the crime of leaking official secrets.
