It was found that less than 20% of all seniors were able to order food from kiosks, conduct e-commerce or financial transactions.

According to the report released by the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs today (15th), only 12.0% of the elderly could conduct e-commerce, 20.2% of financial transactions, and 17.9% of the elderly could order and receive kiosks.

In particular, in the case of kiosks that order food at restaurants or cafes, one in three people aged 65 to 69 knew how to operate.

However, the moment they entered their 70s, it fell by less than half, indicating that only 15.2% of those aged 70 to 74, 8.3% of those aged 75 to 79, and 2.3% of those aged 80 to 84 could use the kiosk.

In terms of using mobile phone functions, most of the elderly over 75 years of age cannot utilize basic functions.

About 60% of people aged 65 to 69 can use functions such as information search and inquiry (78.3%), photo video shooting (79.0%), video viewing (65.7%), and video call (64.8%), while those aged 70 to 74 can use more than 40%, those aged 75 to 79 can use more than 30%, those aged 80 to 84 can use more than 20%, and those aged 85 or older can use around 10%.

In addition, 67.2% of the elderly said they were having difficulty adapting to the rapidly developing information society, and 88.3% of those aged 85 and over said they were having difficulty adapting.
