According to AFP, the French National Counterterrorism Prosecutor's Office (PNAT) said a sentence enforcement court had granted Georges Ibrahim Abdallah his release on the condition that he would no longer appear in France from the 6th of next month.
French prosecutors have expressed their intention to appeal against the court's decision.
Born in Lebanon in 1951, Abdallah founded the Marxist, pro-Syrian and anti-Israel Lebanese Revolutionary Armed Forces (FARL) and was sentenced to life in prison by the Paris Special Court for conspiring in the 1982 assassination of U.S.-Israel diplomats in Paris and the third attempted assassination in 1984.
Abdallah has been eligible for parole since 1999, but has been rejected every time on the grounds that she does not repent of her crimes, but she has received the court's decision after her 11th parole application.
