The ZETA, an industry group, said in a statement on the 15th that the IRA tax credit has "created tremendous job growth and new economic opportunities across the country," especially in "battery belt" states such as Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan and Georgia.
"If the U.S. is to bring these jobs and continue to fight to actually win the competition with China, there must be demand signals such as 'clean vehicle tax credits' consistent with that goal," he said, urging the system to remain in place.
The ZETA website introduces the group as a coalition that works to promote electric vehicle penetration and enact policies that significantly reduce pollution from carbon emissions.
Members include Korean company LG, Panasonic, U.S. electric vehicle companies Rivian and Lucid, Tesla, electric vehicle charger company EVgo, and U.S. electric company Edison.
