U.S. President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba held a summit on the 15th local time in Lima, Peru, where the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation and APEC summit will be held.

Japan's Foreign Ministry said the two leaders met for 10 minutes to closely cooperate on North Korea's nuclear and missile development and the situation in Ukraine.

Ishiba thanked Biden, who is retiring in January next year, for his contributions to the U.S.-Japan alliance so far.

Immediately after the meeting, the two leaders held a trilateral summit, including President Yoon Suk Yeol.
