At 3:38 a.m. today, a fire broke out on the first floor of a six-story commercial building in Gojan-dong, Danwon-gu, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do.

Smoke flowed to the motel on the fifth and sixth floors of the building, and fire authorities issued a second stage of response and rescued more than 40 people to reduce casualties.

At 3:38 a.m. today (17th), a fire broke out at a restaurant on the first floor of a six-story commercial building in Danwon-gu, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do.

Smoke from the fire has flowed into the motel on the 5th and 6th floors of this shopping mall.

Fire authorities decided that there are likely to be many guests in the motel because it is the weekend, and issued a "Response Phase 2" at 3:57 p.m., 19 minutes after the report.

Currently, 84 people were dispatched to 31 fire engines, and Ansan Fire Chief took over the command at the scene, and the big fire was caught at 4:47, an hour and 10 minutes after the report, and the response stage was lowered to the first stage.

Police said they rescued 45 people inside the mall, including a motel, and two of them jumped on an air mat.Most rescuers

complain of smoke inhalation, and no deaths have been confirmed so far.

The fire itself does not seem to be big, but the possibility of a victim coming out cannot be ruled out because of the smoke. The fire department conducted an additional search for life inside the building.

A witness who earlier tipped off YTN said he heard guests shouting "Save us" inside the motel building, which was a tense situation at the time.

Meanwhile, Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang-min issued an emergency order a while ago, and fire, police, and local governments ordered to do their best to save lives by mobilizing all available personnel and equipment.
