Early this morning, a fire broke out in a six-story commercial building in Gojan-dong, Danwon-gu, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do.

Smoke flowed into the motel on the upper floor of the building due to the fire on the first floor, and a total of 50 people were rescued.

The six-story building behind me is a building on fire.

A little over four hours after the fire broke out, the area around here has also been cleared up.

Currently, firefighters are entering the building and continuing the final search.

Currently, the fire is completely extinguished, and you can see the police being dispatched to control the scene.

The fire broke out at 3:38 a.m. today (17th).

The fire started at the restaurant on the first floor of the six-story commercial building, and smoke flowed to the motel on the fifth and sixth floors of the commercial building.

Fire authorities expected that there would be many guests at the motel because it was the weekend, and within 19 minutes of the report, they issued a "second stage of response" to mobilize personnel and equipment from surrounding fire departments.

Then, within an hour and 10 minutes of reporting the fire, the big fire was caught, and at 5:52 the fire was completely extinguished.

The fire department said it rescued 52 people inside the mall, including a motel, and 31 of them were taken to hospitals.

Of these, two are seriously injured, and fortunately, they are in a clear state of consciousness.

No one died in this fire.

When the fire broke out, two people jumped on the air mat, and it was found that they were not seriously injured.

The fire department plans to investigate the exact cause of the fire based on a report that there was a "popping" sound at the time of the initial report.

It added that we need to further check whether the sprinklers worked at the site.

Meanwhile, Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang-min issued an emergency order at around 5 a.m., and instructed firefighters, police, and local governments to do their best to save lives by mobilizing all available personnel and equipment.

Minister Lee also plans to send a field situation manager to help local governments deal with the situation.
