U.S. President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping held their last summit in Lima, Peru, where the APEC summit was held.

At the meeting, President Xi Jinping was quoted as saying that he would seek to develop bilateral relations regardless of the regime change in the United States, and that decoupling and supply chain disruptions were not the solution.

The remarks are interpreted as a check on Trump's tough stance toward China, who will take office in January next year.

In response, U.S. President Biden said the competition between the U.S. and China should not lead to clashes and that he has proven over the past four years that he can maintain such a relationship.

He also said he did not always agree on communication with President Xi, which has continued since he was vice president, but that the conversation was always honest and never deceived each other.

President Biden said he was very proud, listing his achievements since the San Francisco summit in November, including renewed communication between the U.S. and U.S. military authorities, cooperation in countering drugs and cooperation in artificial intelligence.

In particular, the number of deaths from excessive drug use in the United States has decreased for the first time in five years.

A senior U.S. government official said in a preliminary briefing on the talks that President Biden would raise the issue of sending North Korean troops, drawing attention to what kind of discussions he might have had with President Xi.
