Korail said the railroad union's job has caused train delays in some sections of subway lines 1, 3, and 4 in the Seoul metropolitan area and the Suin-Bundang line.
As of 8 a.m. today, 59 of the metropolitan subway cars were delayed by more than 5 minutes, 46 were delayed by more than 10 minutes, and 8 were delayed by more than 20 minutes.
The subway operation status can be checked on mobile apps related to the subway such as 'Corail Subway Talk' or Korail's website.
Korail, however, said that regular trains such as KTX and Saemaeul are all operating normally without a hitch.
In order to overcome the poor working conditions, the railway union began a compliance struggle today, demanding more capacity, a shift to two shifts in four groups, and a 2.5% increase in basic salary.
