According to a survey, the cost of kimchi ingredients for a four-person family in the traditional market was 330,000 won, the highest price ever.

Price research firm Korea Price Information said that as of the 15th, the cost of purchasing kimchi ingredients for a family of four at the traditional market was 331,500 won, up 10% from last year, breaking the all-time high.

The cost of purchasing kimchi ingredients at large supermarkets was about 399,000 won, 9% higher than last year.

In particular, it was analyzed that the price of main ingredients such as cabbage, radish, and chives has doubled by up to twice this year from last year.

An official from Korea Price Information advised that it is better to make kimchi a week or two later than usual this year, as the timing of the cabbage meal has been delayed due to the abnormal climate in the summer.
