[Gyeonggi] Korea's first support for the repair of housing facilities affected by lease fraud

The Gyeonggi provincial government said it will provide emergency construction costs to secure the safety of homes affected by lease fraud, which are in urgent need of facility maintenance.

This is in accordance with the Jeonse Fraud Victims Act revised in September, and Gyeonggi Province is the first local government to directly support the repair of homes affected by Jeonse Fraud.

When tenants submit an application to the competent city and county with the consent of the owner of the building, the city and county will send the candidate site to the Gyeonggi-do Jeonse Damage Support Center after the first check, including an on-site survey, and the final support will be determined through a review by the selection committee.

We plan to receive the project application this month and select the target next month before implementing the construction.

According to a survey of 691 victims of jeonse fraud in Suwon City conducted by the Gyeonggi-do Provincial Government's Jeonse Damage Support Center in August, 646 people, or 64.5 percent, said there was a facility problem in their houses, and on-site surveys also found places that needed emergency measures for public safety, such as eliminating outer wall tiles.
