Prosecutors have launched an additional search and seizure of Woori Bank's headquarters in connection with allegations of unfair loans to former Woori Financial Group Chairman Sohn Tae-seung's relatives.

The Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office has been searching Woori Bank's headquarters in Hoehyeon-dong, Seoul, for loan-related departments, bank presidents' offices, and Woori Financial Group Chairman's offices since this morning (18th).

Prosecutors believe Woori Bank made 35 billion won worth of unfair loans to the relatives of former Woori Financial Group Chairman Sohn Tae-seung from April 2020 to January this year.

Earlier in August, the prosecution launched a two-day forced investigation into Woori Bank's headquarters and the residence of those involved in the case, and raided the former chairman Sohn's home on the 11th of last month.
