In Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do, twin pregnant women were transported to Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do, 120 kilometers away by fire helicopter to give birth because they could not find a hospital to deliver emergency delivery.

Bleeding occurred, but no nearby hospital could be found.

According to Chonbuk National University Hospital and fire authorities, a 40-year-old pregnant woman in her 33rd week complained of abdominal pain and was reported to 119 at around 6:33 a.m. on the 17th.

The 119 paramedics and the emergency situation management center searched 25 hospitals, including Chungnam, Daejeon, Chungbuk, Seoul, and Gyeonggi, but the answer came back that they could not accommodate all of them.

Eventually, A received a call from Chonbuk National University Hospital that emergency surgery was possible, and arrived at Chonbuk National University Hospital by fire helicopter at around 9:29 a.m. and underwent emergency surgery. It was only three hours after the report was filed.

Placenta adhesion was observed during the operation and there was also postpartum bleeding from the mother, but both the mother and the child are now reported to be in good health.
