The Ministry of Unification said the U.S. seminar of the International Korean Peninsula Forum will be held in Washington, D.C., on the 20th local time.

Under the theme of "Trilateral Cooperation and Partnership between the Korean Peninsula, South Korea, the United States, and Japan," the seminar will cover the impact of the U.S. presidential election on the unification and North Korea policy, sanctions and deterrence against North Korea, access to North Korean information, and human rights issues.

Former U.S. State Department special envoy for North Korean human rights Robert King, U.S. President of George Washington University's Korean Studies Institute Celeste Arrington, Yonsei University's Political and Diplomatic Research Institute, and Junya Nishino, head of Japan's Keio University East Asia Research Institute, will attend as presenters and discussors.

The International Korean Peninsula Forum was an expanded development of the Korean Peninsula Forum, which has been held annually by the Ministry of Unification since 2010, and the first meeting was held in Seoul in September.
