National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik has asked the Democratic Party of Korea for an official opinion on whether to pursue a parliamentary investigation to find out the truth about the death of Chae Sang-byung.

An official from the chairman's office said he sent an official letter asking the Democratic Party to reply to each party's opinion to the parliamentary investigation on corporal disease by the morning of the day after tomorrow (21st).

After receiving an official answer, he explained that he plans to ask both parties for a list of members to participate in the special committee on the parliamentary investigation.

An official from the chairman's office added that with the special prosecution law abolished twice, public opinion is high that various suspicions surrounding the death of Chae Sang-byung should be revealed in other forms.

The request for a parliamentary investigation into Chae Sang-byung was submitted by the Democratic Party of Korea in June and reported to the plenary session, and when a special committee is formed, an investigation plan must be prepared and approved by the plenary session.
