President Zelensky made the claim in a video address to a special plenary session of the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium, on the 19th local time.
"Ukraine and its allies around the world have not only prevented Putin's occupation of Ukraine together, but have also succeeded in protecting European countries," Zelensky said, thanking the allies for their support.
Russian President Putin then said he would not stop the war on his own and that he was "focused on winning and the situation will get worse as time goes on."
"All Russian attacks and threats must be followed by firm sanctions," Zelenskyy said, stressing the regime's ability to finance the war, especially through oil sales, a lifeline.
President Zelensky also said he would not "trade sovereignty or give up the right to the territory" in Ukraine's parliament and would fight Russia to the end.
