The price of one bitcoin, a major cryptocurrency stock, once exceeded $94,000 and 130 million won in our money.
It was up more than 4% from the previous day, breaking another six-day high.
Although it slowed down again after hitting the 94,000 mark, expectations have grown that it will reach $100,000 by the end of this year.
Above all, the news that Trump Media is seeking to acquire a cryptocurrency exchange excited the market.
This is because Trump's promise to make the U.S. the world's virtual currency capital has bolstered the prospect of becoming a reality.
Howard Rutnick's nomination as commerce secretary, which has reportedly completely changed Trump's perception of being negative for virtual currencies, also fueled the rise in Bitcoin.
[Howard Rutnick / Secretary of Commerce Nominee (last September): You'll see Bitcoin move in a very strong, positive direction. That's why I'm a fan of Bitcoin. The price will go up a lot higher.]
Trump's appointment of Jay Clayton, former chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, as the chief of the Southern District Prosecutors' Office in New York, which controls Wall Street, was also seen as a sign of easing regulations on virtual currency.
Clayton has been at the forefront of calls for deregulation, calling for approval of spot ETFs in virtual currency.
U.S. media analyzed that the rise in Bitcoin, especially amid increased tensions between Russia and Ukraine, was because it was recognized as a safe asset that could not be confiscated.
However, U.S. media note that the short history and volatile nature are still conditions that cannot be favorable to short-term investors.
