The Democratic Party of Korea argued that special activity costs should be cut to block bias in police investigations, and the ruling People's Power walked out of the conference just before the vote, saying it could not agree to cut back on the police.
The Democratic Party also voted on the local currency budget, which was not in the government's plan, saying it should give a feeling that the country is doing something in the economic recession, but the ruling party protested that pushing ahead with the increase is instrumentalizing politics, even though it pointed out that the effect is insignificant.
Next year's budget will be finalized after a comprehensive review by the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts and a resolution by the plenary session.
