Rider Union and the Cargo Alliance held a joint struggle in front of the National Assembly today (20th) and argued that all citizens using the road are threatened with safety, saying that members are driving without minimal safety due to low basic transportation fees and insurance options.
In addition, eight delivery workers are killed or injured a day, accusing delivery platform companies of paying 1,000 won in fares and making riders who are not covered by paid transportation insurance, which compensates for accidents while driving.
Freight workers emphasized that the safe freight system, which guarantees adequate wages, is being driven into danger by speeding or driving long hours to cover fares that have fallen since sunset last year.
They gathered letters of protest calling for safety legislation and delivered them to the power of the Democratic Party of Korea and the people, respectively.
