Netflix held a showcase in Los Angeles on the 18th by inviting more than 100 journalists from around the world and introduced some of the 50 non-English speaking works to be released from the end of this year to next year.
The piece that drew attention was definitely 'Squid Game' Season 2.
Netflix Chief Content Officer Bella Bajaria, along with Kang Dong-han, the Korean content director, was also confident of the success of season 2.
In season 1, games in which individual abilities and quickness are important, such as "Mugunghwa Flowers Bloom," Dalgona drawing, and marbles, were introduced, while in season 2, the proportion of group games increases.
Head coach Hwang Dong-hyuk explained that the reason for emphasizing cooperation in season 2 was to ask if we have the power to change the deteriorating world.
"Squid Game," a representative work that has increased its status and impact of K-content, which is watched by more than 80% of members around the world, has built a strong fan base not only in Southeast Asia but also in the United States and Europe.
The follow-up season 'Squid Game 2' is set to be released on Dec. 26.
