The legislation of the basic AI law for the development of the artificial intelligence industry and the abolition of the short-term law passed the National Assembly's subcommittee on defense legislation with an agreement between the ruling and opposition parties.

The AI Basic Law stipulated that AI-based videos or photos should have watermarks that can identify them.

In addition, AI technology related to human life or physical safety is classified as "high-impact artificial intelligence" so that the government can demand measures to secure reliability and stability from operators.

The abolition of the Terminal Distribution Act calls for eliminating the existing disclosure subsidy system and the upper limit of additional subsidies, which have been criticized for increasing the burden of mobile phone purchases by restricting competition among mobile operators, and transferring optional contract discounts to the Telecommunications Business Act.

The ruling and opposition parties agreed not to prohibit discrimination based on the type of subscription or pricing plan, such as number movement and device change, instead of prohibiting discrimination based on the user's residence, age, and physical conditions.
