Gyeonggi-do Province's 'Research Group on Old Planning Cities'...Speed of the 1st New Town Maintenance Project

Gyeonggi-do Province announced that it will form and operate a "Old Planned City Research Group" to speed up the completion and speed of the first new city reconstruction project.

Under the Special Act on the Maintenance and Support of Old Planning Cities, if the city prepares a basic plan for the reconstruction floor area ratio of the five first new cities in the province (Seongnam Bundang, Goyang Ilsan, Anyang Pyeongchon, Gunpo Sanbon, Bucheon Jung-dong), it must be reviewed by the Urban Planning Committee after public inspection of residents and consultation with local councils.

Earlier, the province held an urban planning committee on the 25th of last month and the 15th of this month to complete prior consultation on the basic plan for the maintenance of the five first new cities.

As the preliminary consultation is completed, the province plans to complete the review of the basic maintenance plan, which usually takes six months, in two months by the end of December.

The research group reviews the infrastructure capacity review and planning, setting the standard area ratio, and rational establishment of a basic maintenance plan such as improving the settlement environment, and suggests alternatives if necessary.

The contents discussed at the research meeting will be used as data for the main deliberation of the Gyeonggi-do Urban Planning Committee.
