Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tayani said, "Hezbollah appears to have fired two missiles," and denounced it as "unacceptable."
"Just as I firmly told Israel not to shell Italian bases, I also tell Hezbollah equally clearly not to touch Italian forces," he said.
However, Tayani said no soldiers were seriously injured in the attack, adding that only one lieutenant appeared to have been bruised.
Nearly 10,000 U.N. peacekeepers are stationed on Israel's border with Lebanon, serving as a buffer.
However, as the battle between the Israeli military and Hezbollah begins in earnest, damage to peacekeepers is also continuing.
On the 15th, eight rockets fell on the UN peacekeeping base in southern Lebanon, which Minister Tayani said is also likely to be the work of Hezbollah.
