The Korean Central News Agency reported today that Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degcharev and his party arrived in Pyongyang yesterday (22nd) by plane.
The Russian Embassy in North Korea said on social media that it will tour major facilities such as Kim Il-sung Stadium along with a taekwondo demonstration performance during the visit.
The embassy also said that Minister Mikhail will sign a sports exchange agreement next year after meeting with North Korean Sports Minister Kim Il-guk, which included conducting joint sports events and training professional personnel.
Meanwhile, the Korean Central News Agency reported that a delegation from the Military Academy of the Russian General Staff, who visited Pyongyang on the 18th, returned home yesterday.
Although no specific purpose was mentioned in connection with the visit, exchange and cooperation measures in military education are likely to have been discussed following military cooperation between North Korea and Russia.
