After terminating the lawyer's appointment contract, a lawyer who demanded a large amount of money to his client, saying, "If you don't pay for success, I'll report a crime," was fined.

The Seoul Central District Court recently fined A, a lawyer accused of attempted blackmail, 10 million won.

The court explained the reason for the sentencing, saying that the nature of the crime was not good, but that it was reflecting on its wrongdoing and considering that it had agreed with the victim.

A was notified of the termination of the contract in October last year after taking over B's criminal defense against the housing law.

The following year, when A learned that the case had been closed by requesting the police to disclose information, he sent a message to B that he would report a violation of the Housing Act if he did not send 30 million won in success compensation.
