The first trial of Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, will be sentenced today on charges of perjury.

At 2 p.m. today (25th), the Seoul Central District Court will proceed with the first trial sentence against CEO Lee, who is accused of perjury.

Representative Lee was put on trial in October last year on charges of demanding false testimony from witnesses after he was indicted on charges of publicizing false information related to the so-called "prosecutor impersonation" case in 2018.

The prosecution said that the witness accepted Lee's request and gave favorable testimony in court, and demanded a three-year prison term, the maximum sentence in terms of sentencing standards.

On the other hand, the representative Lee is pleading not guilty, saying that he only told him to make a statement as he remembered.
