held a summit meeting today (25th) with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar, who made an official visit to South Korea, and adopted a joint statement on this matter, establishing a strategic partnership ahead of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations next year.
The two countries also expressed concern over deepening military cooperation between Russia and North Korea, condemned North Korea's ballistic missile launches and strongly urged them to refrain from further provocations and illegal activities.
The presidential office said it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Malaysia on the occasion of the summit, strengthened defense and defense cooperation, and confirmed its willingness to conclude the Korea-Malaysia FTA negotiations by 2025.
It is the first time in five years that the prime minister of Malaysia, Korea's third-largest trading partner among ASEAN countries, has visited Korea, and Prime Minister Anwar has visited Korea for the first time since his inauguration.
