When Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, was acquitted in the first trial of perjury, the Democratic Party of Korea welcomed the judiciary's judgment.

The power of the people expressed disappointment and responded that they would watch the rest of the trial.

I'm connecting with the National Assembly reporter, reporter Son Hyo-jung!

First, please tell us the Democratic Party atmosphere.

[Reporter]
When Lee Jae-myung was acquitted in the first trial of perjury teacher charges, the Democratic Party of Korea immediately welcomed the message.

The Democratic Party of Korea, which saw off representative Lee in front of the court, also briefly cheered after hearing the news.

Chung Chung-rae said on social media that the sky does not collapse even if thunder and lightning strikes, and Chung Sung-ho, the leader of the pro-Myeong faction, also expressed his gratitude to the judiciary.

There were many predictions that a heavier sentence would come out in this trial than in the first trial of violation of the Public Official Election Act, which was previously sentenced to deprivation of the right to vote, but it seems to be taking a breather with the acquittal.

The Democratic Party, which has been protesting the prosecution's investigation against Representative Lee as a "static removal," has also cast the arrow of responsibility on the ruling party.

Rep. Kim Yong-min called for an apology and resignation on social media, pointing to President Yoon Suk Yeol as the final person responsible for suppressing the opposition leader and destroying democracy by manipulating the incident.

Rep. Kim Hyun also wrote on social media that it was a must-have.

The Democratic Party of Korea, which staged a public opinion of innocence, saying, "There are no perjury and no teachers," is expected to maintain a solid unity centered on representative Lee in the future.

We plan to accelerate our offensive through the Special Prosecutor's Office Act of First Lady Kim Gun-hee.

However, the higher court remains in the future, and the results of other trials, including the alleged violation of the Public Official Election Act, remain variables.

Yes, then let's look at the ruling party's atmosphere, which has been highlighting representative Lee's judicial risks every day.

[Reporter]
Yes, the power of the people is apparently embarrassed by Representative Lee's acquittal.

Some lawmakers openly declared that they would be sentenced to two years in prison.

Initially, there was talk that the leadership would immediately announce its position immediately after Lee's ruling, but no official response has been made yet.

Within the party, there was a response that it respected the judiciary's judgment, but it was a disappointing result.

Floor spokesman Shin Dong-wook also said he would accept the judiciary's judgment and watch the remaining higher courts calmly,
Representative Kim Yong-tae pointed out that it is hard to understand the judgment that those who received a teacher were fined 5 million won for perjury.

For the ruling party, the plan to use today's sentence as an opportunity to rebound support for the government and the ruling party following the 15th seems inevitable.

On top of that, some predict that the ruling party's struggles will deepen as the party leadership is engaged in an open war of words over the party's bulletin board controversy surrounding representative Han Dong-hoon.

So far, I'm Son Hyo-jung of YTN in the National Assembly.
