The Hasan-Tuman River railway checkpoint on the border between Russia and North Korea has been in full operation this year, Tas news agency reported.

"The Hassan-Tuman River Station border railway checkpoint has been in operation since this year," Viktor Demyanko, deputy director of Russia's Far Eastern Railway, said at the second investment industry forum held at the Federal University of the Far East in Russia's Primorsky Krai on the 25th local time.

also explained, "Four railway checkpoints, including the Hassan-Tumen River Station checkpoint, are contributing to the development of border trade in the Far East."

The border railway linking Hasan Station in Primorsky and Tumen River Station in North Korea opened in 2013.

Russia sent more than 50,000 tons of cargo to North Korea via the railway in 2019, but the country completely sealed its border with Russia in February 2020 in the wake of COVID-19.

Since then, rail freight transport between North Russia has resumed in November 2022.
