According to News 1 on the 26th, Cho recently launched a skincare brand Cerro Labs and started to expand his business in earnest by hiring regular employees.
Cho's name is listed on the representative name of Cerro Labs' company mall, and the workplace is located in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province.
Products from the brand are being sold at its mall and beauty platform Hwahae, and Toner is ranked on the parent beauty platform within days of its launch.
Currently, Cho is facing the first trial of an appeals court indicted on charges of exercising false official documents.
Earlier, Cho was indicted on charges of colluding with CEO Cho Kuk and others to submit false self-introduction documents to the admission management department of Seoul National University Graduate School of Medicine in June 2013, internship confirmation under the name of the director of the Public Human Rights Law Center at Seoul National University, and false Dongyang University citation.
He is also accused of interfering with the evaluation committee's admission assessment work by submitting false applications, self-introduction letters, and forged commendations to the admission management department of Pusan National University Graduate School of Medicine in June 2014.
The first trial admitted Cho's alleged irregularities in entrance exams and sentenced him to a fine of 10 million won. However, he explained the reason for the sentencing, saying, "I was not involved in the specific issuance process of false documents and forgery of commendations, and I acknowledged all the crimes and dropped a lawsuit to cancel the admission to Pusan National University and Korea University." Both Cho and the prosecution appealed against the ruling.
