Companies with a higher share of the total family or second generation of conglomerates tend to have a higher proportion of internal transactions.

The Fair Trade Commission analyzed the status of internal transactions last year of 2,700 affiliates belonging to 88 publicly disclosed business groups with assets of more than 5 trillion won designated in May.

The share of internal transactions in companies with a 20% or more stake in the total family was 11%, 14.6% for 30% or more, 17.1% for 50% or more, and 26% for 100% or more.

In particular, the proportion of internal transactions of companies with a 20% or more stake in the second generation of the total number was 21.9%, 23.5% for 30% or more, 29% for 50% or more, and 24% for 100% or more.

Last year, the total internal transaction amount at home and abroad of the business group subject to disclosure decreased to 704.4 trillion won in three years.

The total proportion of internal transactions is 32.5%, while the proportion of internal transactions of domestic affiliates is 12.8%, up 0.6%p from a year ago.

The FTC saw an increase in the proportion of internal transactions of domestic affiliates due to a decrease in sales of large companies.
