The teachers' union said in a press release today (26th) that it will hold a congress of delegates on the 2nd of next month to vote for and against the impeachment of Chairman Kim.
The union claimed that Chairman Kim was suspected of embezzlement and breach of trust, such as purchasing glasses lenses and suits with public funds and buying tens of millions of won worth of books related to specific media companies.
In response, Chairman of the states Affairs Commission Kim issued a statement and made it clear that he had no intention of stepping down, saying that he did not violate the rules of the agreement that could cause impeachment.
Under the union's rules, the impeachment motion is proposed at the request of a majority of the delegates and approved by more than two-thirds of the delegates present.
