Since last night, the first snow has been observed in many parts of the Seoul metropolitan area, including Seoul and Incheon, and a heavy snow warning is in effect due to the prediction of a lot of snow until tomorrow.

Traffic congestion in the city center is also feared ahead of full-fledged rush hour,
I'll connect you to the
reporter for more information.

Reporter Kim Tae-won, please tell us the current situation on your way to work.

Yes, on the streets of Hongik University Station, you could see citizens on their way to work who started their early day by getting off the bus.

I often walked to the subway station to avoid falling down with an umbrella.

Even now, snow is still raging, so the visibility is so short that it is hard to see buildings far away.

Also, even though snow removal has already been done, snow is quickly accumulating on the roadway.

As rush hour approaches, the flow of vehicles on major roads in downtown Seoul is gradually slowing down.

Some places are closed to traffic,
As of 5 a.m. on
in the middle of the roads in downtown Seoul, there are four areas: Bukaksan-gil, Inwangsan-gil, Samcheong-dong-gil, and BAI-gil.

From last night to 5 a.m. today (27th), the average snowfall in downtown Seoul has already exceeded 11 centimeters.

Snow is expected to fall this afternoon in many parts of the country, including the metropolitan area.

Currently, heavy snow warnings are in effect when snow is expected to accumulate more than 5cm in 24 hours across Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi Province.

In Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province, a heavy snow warning is in effect, which is expected to accumulate more than 20cm in 24 hours.

As a result, the Seoul Metropolitan Government and autonomous districts have also issued the first phase of snow removal emergency work since last evening and are responding to the snowfall by deploying 5,200 personnel and 1,200 snow removal equipment.

Even if we deal with this, we are still concerned about snow gliding accidents,

If you haven't come to work yet, you'd better use public transportation rather than your own car if possible.

If you really need to drive, you should also check the city's road control status from time to time at the Seoul Metropolitan Transportation Information Service.

I'm Kim Taewon from YTN on the street in front of Hongik University Station in Mapo-gu, Seoul.
