Police have arrested men who stole cell phones from the subway and a vendor who secretly took them out to Uzbekistan.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's subway police arrested three men in their 50s on charges of theft and a man in his 30s from Uzbekistan on charges of acquiring stolen goods and sent him to custody.

Three men in their 50s have been accused of stealing 10 cell phones of people who have fallen asleep drunk on subway stations and trains at a deserted night since September.

Mr. A, an Uzbek, is accused of buying stolen mobile phones for hundreds of thousands of won each and secretly sending them to Uzbekistan to sell them.

They were found to have traded mobile phones stolen from alleys where there were no CCTVs and few people.

The police analyzed more than 200 CCTVs and arrested them after receiving a report from citizens that "the mobile phone was missing while they were asleep."
