The Army said at a recent air-shooting competition, Lieutenant Kang Myung-ki, a 901st Air Battalion Apache Guardian pilot, was named the "Top Heligan of the Year," which means best combat helicopter shooter for individual shooting.

Lieutenant Kang joined the army in 2010 and completed his military service, graduated from the university, and was commissioned as a helicopter control officer again in 2016 to fly Apache helicopters.

The competition, which was held by the Army Air Command, featured more than 200 top pilots flying Apache, Surion, 500MD, Chinook (CH-47), and UH-60 helicopters.

Following the Top Heligan, the "Excellent Heligan" was selected by Major Kim Woo-seop, a 500MD pilot of the 504th Air Battalion, and won the Minister of Defense Award.

The Army emphasized that it plans to continue its efforts to maximize the rapid mobility and powerful firepower of the Air Force.
