Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs designated a national management cemetery in Boryeong, Chungcheongnam-do, 'Mansae Boryeong Keeper'

The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs said today that it has designated the "Mansae Boryeong Keeper" as a national management cemetery (No. 17), where the 14th-ranked Korean War Railway Police, who sacrificed their lives to stop the North Korean military's 6th Division from moving south in mid-July 1950.

At that time, the railway police forces were ordered to stop the North Korean troops from moving south and penetrated into the Jusan area of Boryeong, Chungcheongnam-do, where six people were killed at the scene after being attacked by the North Korean military, and 10 were killed after being captured.

Boryeong Police Station is currently visiting the graveyard on Memorial Day, Police Day, the inauguration of the head of the institution, and the appointment of new police officers, and has held a joint memorial service at the end of October every year under the auspices of the Boryeong City Branch of the Korean Freedom Federation.

The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs emphasized that in accordance with the designation of the national management cemetery, it will systematically manage the cemetery along with the installation of information boards and renovation of some damaged tombstones.
