Yonsei University, which had been engaged in a legal battle with test takers due to the leakage of essay questions, decided to take additional tests and double the number of successful applicants.

Yonsei University said in a statement today (27th) that it will conduct an additional test on the 8th of next month as a follow-up to the controversy over the leakage of questions for the 2025 natural science essay test.

Yonsei University explained that 261 people who passed the first test on the 12th of last month will be selected as planned, announced on the 13th of next month, and 261 people will be selected for the second test and announced before the 26th of next month, the deadline for registration of those who passed the first test.

In the second test, all the test takers who took the first test can take it again.

Yonsei University added that it made the decision with a heart of self-determination to resolve the uncertainty that test takers and parents will feel as it became difficult to get a court ruling at an early date.

In response, lawyer Kim Jung-sun, who is representing the lawsuit on behalf of the examinee, responded positively, saying, "It is not a bad decision from the examinee's point of view."

He also explained that Yonsei University's action will not proceed with the main lawsuit scheduled for the 5th of next month, and the application for an injunction to suspend the validity of the test will likely be withdrawn after collecting opinions from the participants.
