Director of Overseas Koreans Visits Tokyo, Japan to Listen to Current Issues in Korean Society in Japan

Lee Sang-deok, head of the Overseas Koreans Agency, plans to visit Tokyo, Japan, for the first time since his inauguration in July to exchange opinions on regional issues with his compatriots in Tokyo, the Overseas Koreans Agency said today (28th).

On the 29th, the first day of his visit to Tokyo, Commissioner Lee Sang-deok will attend a meeting hosted by the Korean People's Association in Japan to introduce the major policies and directions of the Overseas Koreans' Office.

Commissioner Lee will also convey his opinion on the project being carried out by the Korean-Japanese community in connection with the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan next year.

Lee is also expected to introduce policies that the Overseas Koreans Administration will focus on next year, such as preparing a system to promote domestic investment in overseas Koreans, establishing a stable settlement and social integration support system for domestic Koreans, and establishing a TV for overseas Koreans to communicate 24 hours a day with overseas Koreans.

On the 30th, the last day of his visit, Commissioner Lee Sang-deok will visit Shinokubo, Tokyo to check the Korean Wave in Japan and share opinions with Korean businessmen on the direction of the development of Korean society.
