The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office has been investigating former President Kim as a suspect accused of abuse of authority and violation of the National Public Officials Act since this morning (28th).
Former President Kim is accused of intervening in the process of his son Kim joining and being assigned to the 8th-grade experienced position of the NEC in 2020.
Prosecutors suspect that Kim, the former deputy secretary-general at the time, helped increase the number of recruits or put forward favorable conditions for his son and get high scores from interviewers.
Earlier, on the 22nd, the court rejected the arrest warrant requested against former president Kim, saying that although the case is serious, it is difficult to conclude that there is a possibility of destroying evidence or running away.
The prosecution is expected to decide whether to request or dispose of an arrest warrant again after a reinforcing investigation.
