While the Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Moon-soo called for the withdrawal of the railroad and subway strike plan announced early next month, the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions criticized the Minister of Employment and Labor for making threats over the union's legitimate strike action.

In a commentary, the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions criticized Minister Kim for his remarks at an emergency meeting to check the situation of major organizations this morning (28th).

The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions said workers exercise basic labor rights under the Constitution and strike justly in accordance with legal procedures, stressing that strikes by railway and subway workers are a battle for the lives and safety of the people.

The Korea Railroad Corporation said it would reduce the number of safety personnel rather than add more safety personnel despite repeated accidents, adding that the damage from the lack of safety personnel will inevitably come to the people.

At the same time, he urged Minister Kim to resign, saying that the Minister of Labor, who should protect workers' labor rights, is restricting labor rights.
