A famous pianist has been summarily charged with prostitution.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office today (28th) summarily indicted pianist A, who is suspected of prostitution, with a fine of 2 million won.

Mr. A is accused of prostitution at a massage shop in Gangnam-gu, Seoul in 2020.

Last summer, an acquaintance of A received a recorded file containing the circumstances of prostitution and a petition requesting an investigation to the police, and the prosecution received the case in September and continued the investigation.

Mr. A acknowledged the allegations of prostitution itself in the investigation, but reportedly stated that the files submitted by acquaintances were illegally collected.

Summary prosecution is a process in which the prosecution asks the court to impose fines instead of formally handing over the suspect to trial.
