If the president and his family are subject to investigation, the ruling party has passed the National Assembly plenary session on a revision of the rules for the permanent special prosecution, which prohibits the ruling party from recommending special prosecutors.
A bill that would allow the opposition party with a majority of seats to take the lead in the budget review also crossed the threshold of the plenary session, which the ruling party opposed as an illegal and unconstitutional bill.
Reporter Hong Min-ki covered it.

The Democratic Party's proposed amendment to the rules of the standing special prosecution has passed the plenary session of the National Assembly led by the opposition party.
If the president and his family are subject to investigation, the ruling party's right to recommend special prosecutors is excluded and the share is given to non-consulting organizations.
The Democratic Party stressed that it is a bill that will prevent conflicts of interest from the president so that a fairer investigation can be conducted.
Since the permanent special prosecution is a law already in effect, the president cannot request a reconsideration, so the plan is to investigate some suspicions related to Kim Gun-hee with a permanent special prosecutor.
[Kim Yong-min / Minjoo Party member: Today, we must pass the revision of the special prosecutor's operating rules to ensure a neutral and fair investigation into the president and his family.]
On the other hand, the ruling party countered that the Democratic Party of Korea will choose the special prosecutor and the subject of the investigation as it likes, and that the special prosecutor, which was not selected by the ruling and opposition parties' agreement, is unconstitutional.
[Joo Jin-woo / People's Power] In short, another prosecutor's office will be created under the Democratic Party. This rule does not directly fit the constitutional spirit and system of our Republic of Korea.
The revision of the National Assembly Act, which can increase the influence of the opposition party in the budget review, also crossed the threshold of the plenary session.
Currently, if the ruling and opposition parties fail to complete the budget review by the legal deadline, the government's original plan will be automatically uploaded to the plenary session, which is aimed at preventing it.
The opposition party pushed ahead with the bill, saying the National Assembly should strengthen its right to review the budget, and the ruling party protested that the Democratic Party of Korea is once again taking the lead in people's livelihoods as hostage.
The revision of the law, which strengthens the National Assembly's right to order witnesses to accompany witnesses at hearings and strengthens the obligation to submit data, was also handled by the opposition party.
Of course, other controversial bills other than the revision of the permanent special prosecution rules are highly opposed to the ruling party and President Yoon is likely to exercise his right to demand reconsideration, so it is unlikely to pass the final law.
