The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced today (28th) that it will propose to the president to request reconsideration and exercise the right to veto the so-called Four Agricultural Laws, including the revision of the Grain Management Act.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs has made clear its opposition to the bills, saying they will deepen the decline in rice prices and cause instability in agricultural supply and demand, but it is very regrettable that they were processed without amendment at today's plenary session.

It also added that by the end of the year, the government will announce additional rice industry fundamental measures, including imposing obligations on farmers to reduce the area of rice cultivation.
