More than half of domestic homes owned by foreigners are owned by Chinese people, the report showed.

As of the end of June this year, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced statistics on "foreign housing and land ownership" on the 29th.

As of the end of June, a total of 95,058 domestic homes owned by foreigners were tallied, up 3,605 from six months earlier.

Among them, 52,798 houses owned by Chinese people accounted for 56% of the total.

After Chinese, 21,360 Americans (22.5%), 6,225 Canadians (6.5%), 3,307 Taiwanese (3.5%), and 1,894 Australian (2.0%).

72.8% of foreigners' homes were located in the Seoul metropolitan area. Gyeonggi Province has the largest number of households (38.7%), followed by 23,085 households in Seoul (24.3%) and 9,407 households in Incheon (9.9%).

Meanwhile, the area of land owned by foreigners in the country stood at 265.654 million square meters as of the end of June, up 0.4% from the end of last year. This corresponds to 0.26% of the total land area.
