The Candidate Recommendation Committee for the CEO of a subsidiary made up of directors of Woori Financial Group held a meeting this morning (29th) and selected Vice President Chung as a candidate for the next president of Woori Bank.
After graduating from Pohang Steel High School and Kyungpook National University's law department, Vice President Chung entered the company in 1995 and served as the head of the SME customer department and the head of the headquarters sales department.
The committee has been conducting the process of appointing the president with an emphasis on reform, generational change, and strengthening sales competitiveness.
Vice President Chung is the youngest candidate among the presidential candidates and is evaluated as a person who meets the keyword of generational change.
The next president of Woori Bank will be in charge of stabilizing the organization that has been disturbed by the unfair loan case related to the former chairman's relatives and improving the bank's performance.
Chung said he will prioritize innovation in internal control and reorganization of corporate culture to restore bank confidence, which has been tarnished by a series of recent financial accidents.
