On the 2nd, Internet user A introduced himself as a general practitioner in his 20s who was a preliminary major in pediatrics at Seoul National University Hospital through his personal blog and revealed that he is currently working at a hospital in Seoul.
A said, "We have been lynching extreme groups including disclosure of personal information including real names, defamation including false facts, threats, various insults and swear words for several weeks in a specific anonymous doctor's community, so we are writing to expose them and seek help."
The photograph of the doctor's community capture released by him said, "Are you excited to put a knife in your colleagues' back?" and "You will kill all your seniors and take the grudge, but will you be able to be trained intact?" There were even comments that explicitly cursed A's parents.
Mr. A applied as a general practitioner to a hospital in Seoul from the beginning of last month, and was assigned to an orthopedic clinic and started working. It is explained that shortly after starting work, articles referring to one's real name or initial consonant began to be posted in the doctor's community.
"The interviewer asked me if it would be okay for my previous employees to quit after receiving threatening calls, but I didn't think seriously at the time," he said. "After my colleague informed me of the post (on the community), he quit right away, and I couldn't quit, so I continued working."
Previously, public criticism against doctors who did not participate in the medical collective action was formed in the doctor community. In particular, a medical doctor working here created and distributed a blacklist that maliciously disclosed the real names of doctors working in the emergency room, causing a stir.
A said this continued to this day, and the situation is getting worse due to the anonymous protection policy of the doctor's community. In particular, the term "tangerine" initially referred only to practitioners working in training hospitals, but later, commissioned doctors (contract doctors) working as general doctors in training hospitals were also criticized.
"I got a job out of necessity, and I didn't mean to hurt anyone, but I don't understand why hundreds of people are mocking and criticizing me all of a sudden," he said. "It's still hard to believe what happened suddenly, and the level of criticism and false information is getting worse."
Mr. A said that the investigation is currently underway by submitting a complaint to the police, but said, "I heard from the investigator and the lawyer's office that it would be difficult for me to succeed on my own." In addition, the doctor's community said they have not yet replied to the mail sent by A on November 16.
Currently, more than 100 people have agreed to a petition titled "A petition on the investigation of anonymous communities of specific doctors and the revision of the Personal Information Protection Act and the Information and Communication Network Act" was posted on the website of the National Consent Petition in connection with the case. It is about to switch to an open petition.
