The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it will implement a "fine dust seasonal management system" in the winter when high concentrations of fine dust are generated.
First of all, vehicles with Grade 5 emissions that do not take low-emission measures cannot operate in Seoul from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, and if caught, a fine of 100,000 won per day will be imposed.
In addition, the city plans to conduct a special inspection on more than 700 air pollution emission facilities, and in the case of large construction sites, a regular monitoring system with Internet of Things technology will be established to monitor fine dust in real time.
In addition, 80,000 eco-friendly boilers for homes will be supplied to reduce fine dust in the heating sector, and energy-intensive buildings such as hotels and department stores will be checked for compliance with appropriate heating temperatures.
