An amendment to the Medical Law, which allows the sex of a fetus to be known even before 32 weeks of pregnancy, passed the National Assembly plenary session.

This is a measure based on the judgment of the Constitutional Court that the provision of the Medical Law, which prohibits informing parents of the sex of the fetus until the 32nd week of pregnancy, is unconstitutional.

The revision also calls for strengthening the requirements, such as not having been suspended for more than three months in the past three years to prevent it from being effective as a specialized hospital even if it is suspended due to unlicensed procedures.

In addition, if a patient moves to another hospital, he or she can ask a medical institution to send his or her medical records through the Medical Record Transmission Support System, and the medical institution will respond to it.
