The house in Samseong-dong was auctioned off because A, a famous comedian and restaurant entrepreneur, couldn't pay for alcohol.
According to a media outlet today (2nd), the Seoul Central District Court in July decided to start a compulsory auction for a 152.98-square-meter real estate dedicated to Central Heights Village in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, owned by A. This apartment is a luxury apartment with a market price of more than 3.6 billion won.
The property was acquired by A and his father at a half share ratio in 2005, but it seems to have been auctioned off due to debt problems.
An industry official said, "A, who had been running a restaurant business such as running several restaurants in downtown Seoul along with entertainment activities, must have suffered from the recession. It is expected that the real estate was caught as collateral because he could not pay back the price of alcohol and goods, he said.
